Quite bizarre.

Rudd is pretty much a clone of Beazley - less experience, less height and less personal warmth (he dropped 13 points on 'caring for people' compared with Beazley in his first Newspoll) are the only obvious differences I can see.

A lot of Labor supporters live in a parallel universe. The 'Latham is a proper leftie standing up for Labor values' delusion has been replaced by 'Rudd is a great politician and we're going to win'.

Could be tears on election night.

Perhaps this is yet more confirmation that nothing may be divined from polls, regardless of the questions asked, UNLESS those wishing to use the results in a partisan manner are willing to add caveats declaring the polled demographic to be a complete unknown.
