    Defenders of the new IR regulation claimed it would increase job security. This post is not the full story, but the inconsistency is worth noting.

    In theory, the introduction of the new IR rules should not harm job security but should harm jobs growth because employers will be discouraged from hiring marginal workers. So this sort of impact should only be transitional, albeit no less real for the losers. The real damage will be done over the months and years ahead. Something to look forward to…
